Santa Baby
Check out this beautiful card by Amy Sheffer at Pickled Paper Designs. She has some unbelievable cards posted here. I orginally saw this on Splitcoast Stampers.
Amy's description reads -
The sentiment carries through to the inside and reads: "I've been a good girl." The image and sentiment are both from Santa Baby by My Favorite Things. For the ruffled bottom, I hand-basted and gathered some wide silk ribbon, attached it with tape, then covered the seam with some wide ricrac and a knotted length of red polka dot ribbon. Papers are Eskimo Kisses by Basic Grey.

Peppermint Patty Spiders
I've seen these cute spiders in many blogs and on SplitCoast Stampers. Finally, I tried to make my own. So easy!
My daughter decided to help me create these cute little guys. I knew that she would want to use her own colors and the traditional Halloween colors would be out the window! She wanted to start with her favorite colors first - pink and purple! And, yes, one of these guys has a smile! I like it but my assistant wasn't really thrilled with it.
Then she wanted to used "crystal eyes" rather than the black googlie ones! This one is kinda cute!
Next, she wanted to make a couple for her Dad. Of course we went with the VIrginia Tech colors - orange and maroon. Go HOKIES!! Not sure if the colors look great or not, but that is what it is supposed to be!
She also wanted to make a couple for her brother! His color choice was red and orange!! Not sure where he got those colors from but if that is what he wanted, far be it from me to try to change his mind!
We even tried to make one that looked like it had hair on it. I used a white colored pencil on the black parts and a black pencil on the orange parts. Don't think the details came out very well, but they are there!
FINALLY, we used purple and yellow to show support for East Carolina University. Our niece is a freshman there and the colors look nice together.
My little angels will be sharing the spiders with their teachers this week. Hope they like them.
These cute sweet treats start out with Peppermint Pattys and a couple SU punches (well, at least that is what I used!) They smell so good!

Snow Card Swap
This is a card created for a swap on SplitCoast Stampers. It had to have a "snow" theme. I hope I've met that theme!
Not sure if you can tell or not but there is Crystal Effects on the letters and on parts of each snowflake. I think I'll change the positions of each snowflake so the tag looks better. It was difficult to position the tag after putting the crystals on the snowflakes.
Thanks for looking, any comments are welcome.

Thank a Teacher
As a former teacher, this email really moves me. I taught for almost 20 years before my kids arrived. This makes me think about all the kids I met over those years.
This is my "all-time" favorite email. You have probably seen this before but it really makes me think! Just had to share this one....
What Do Teachers Make?
The dinner guests were sitting around the table discussing life.
One man, a CEO, decided to explain the problem with education. He argued, "What's a kid going to learn from someone who decided his best option in life was to become a teacher?"
To stress his point he said to another guest; "You're a teacher, Bonnie. Be honest. What do you make?"
Bonnie, who had a reputation for honesty and frankness replied, "You want to know what I make? (She paused for a second, then began...)
"Well, I make kids work harder than they ever thought they could.
I make a C+ feel like the Congressional Medal of Honor winner.
I make kids sit through 40 minutes of class time when their parents can't make them sit for 5 without an I Pod, Game Cube or movie rental.
You want to know what I make? (She paused again and looked at each and every person at the table) I make kids wonder.
I make them question.
I make them apologize and mean it.
I make them have respect and take responsibility for their actions.
I teach them to write and then I make them write.. Keyboarding isn't everything.
I make them read, read, read.
I make them show all their work in math. They use their God given brain, not the man-made calculator.
I make my students from other countries learn everything they need to know about English while preserving their unique cultural identity.
I make my classroom a place where all my students feel safe.
I make my students stand, placing their hand over their heart to say the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, One Nation Under God, because we live in the United States of America.
Finally, I make them understand that if they use the gifts they were given, work hard, and follow their hearts, they can succeed in life. (Bonnie paused one last time and then continued.)
Then, when people try to judge me by what I make, with me knowing money isn't everything, I can hold my head up high and pay no attention because they are ignorant.
You want to know what I make? I MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
What do you make Mr. CEO? His jaw dropped, he went silent.
THIS IS WORTH SENDING TO EVERY TEACHER, EVERY CEO, EVERY PERSON YOU KNOW. Even all your personal teachers like mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, coaches and your spiritual leaders/teachers. A profound answer!!!
Hope this makes a difference when you are upset with your child's teacher, in most cases the teacher is looking out for the best interest of the students.
Have a great day.
Thanks for reading.

This bag goes along with the NEXT post!!
This is the second denim bag that goes along with the NEXT post. Now that I'm looking at it, it isn't my favorite craft. Not sure if I like the green ribbon at the top. The ribbon and jewels are all one, but I think it needs something else.... not sure what.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Embellished Denim Bag
Buttons are my favorite embellishment!! A couple months ago, I found this denim bag at Michaels for about $2.00, it was a package of 2 for $4.00. It was just plain and screaming to me to make it more interesting. I thought and thought, them it hit me - OUCH!!! Add some pretty buttons to it! So I dug out me buttons and first hot glued each one on then stitched each one for added security.
I think it turned out pretty nice.
This is the other side, cute, cute, cute!!
Thanks for looking!
